Product Recalls

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued the following product recalls:

➢ BEAD LANDINGTM TASSEL KEYCHAIN MOBILE POWER BANKS

Hazard: The lithium ion battery in the keychain’s mobile power bank can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. The firm has received two reports of tassel keychain mobile power banks overheating when charging and catching on fire. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Michaels private brand Bead Landing tassel keychain mobile power banks which can be used to charge smart phones and other devices. The tassel keychain mobile power banks measure about 7 inches long by 1.5 inches wide with USB and micro USB charging cables, as well as a lightning adapter for the micro USB cable. Only tassel keychain mobile power banks sold in black, cream, blush pink and iridescent blue colors and the following SKU numbers and UPC codes are included in this recall:

Remedy: Refund. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Bead Landing tassel keychains with mobile power banks and return them to any Michaels store for a full refund. ➢ COASTLINE CERAMIC MUGS

Hazard: The mugs can crack or break when used with or exposed to hot liquids, posing burn and laceration hazards. Hit Promotional Products has received ten reports of the mugs cracking or breaking when in use with hot liquids. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves the Coastline Ceramic Mug that was given away as a free promotional item at meetings or events. The mugs are decorated with various logos and come in a variety of colors with a gray bottom. “China” is printed on the bottom of each mug.

Remedy: Replace. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mugs and contact Hit Promotional Products for a free replacement mug. ➢ KICHLER SNAPPER REAR ENGINE 33” RIDING MOWERS

Hazard: A faulty blade engagement lever can keep the lawnmower blade engaged after the release of the foot activated disengagement pedal, posing an injury hazard. No incidents or injuries reported.

Description: This recall involves Snapper Rear Engine Riding Mowers with rear engines and a 33-inch mower deck. The riding mowers are red and black. Model number 2691526, Briggs & Stratton and 33” are printed on a white label the back of the mower. SNAPPER is printed on the front of the mower.

Remedy: Repair. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled riding mowers and contact Briggs & Stratton for a free inspection and repair. ➢ KENMORE ELITE MICROWAVE OVENS

Hazard: Incorrect wiring causes the microwave’s exterior to reach temperatures exceeding 183 degrees Fahrenheit, posing a burn hazard to the user. No incidents or injuries reported.

Description: This recall involves 1,000-watt countertop convection microwave ovens manufactured under the Kenmore Elite brand name on April 27, 2017. This manufacturing date of the recalled microwave ovens is identifiable by the first six digits of their serial numbers, each of which begins with the numerals “170427”. The model number of the recalled microwaves is “204.77603610”. The brand name, model number and serial number can be found on the data plate on the back of the microwave ovens. The brand name is printed near the bottom of the door.

➢ HOOEY CHILDREN’S SWEATSHIRTS WITH DRAWSTRINGS

Hazard: A drawstring in the sweatshirt hood poses a strangulation hazard to children. Drawstrings can become entangled or caught on playground slides, hand rails, school bus doors or other moving objects, posing a significant strangulation hazard to children. No incidents or injuries reported.

Description: This recall involves 15 styles of youth-sized sweatshirts with the “Hooey” brand or logo and drawstrings in the hood. The sweatshirts are polyester and cotton. The sweatshirts generally have a single front pocket. They were sold in boys’ and girls’ sizes XS, S, M, L, XL. A white size label has the word “Hooey” and “Made in China” and is located at the center back neck of the sweatshirts. A label in the side seam has the garment care instructions.

Remedy: Repair. Consumers should immediately take the recalled sweatshirts away from children and remove the drawstring to eliminate the hazard.
